For those of you that know me, does this even look like me?
Do love the concept of Simpsonizeme!
Forbes just came out with their list of the Best Cities for Singles, with SF on top and NYC second. There is also a listing and methodology page.
A part that caught my interest:
Denver, meanwhile, our top-ranked city from 2004 to 2006, has dropped to 16th place. But before Denver city elders start beating themselves up over this, we should note that this is largely because, amid several refinements to our methodology this year, we’ve switched to a new way of defining each city. In the past, the boundaries and population of each city were drawn from the U.S. Census Bureau’s list of “Metropolitan Statistical Areas.” But in 2007, we’ve begun using the Census Bureau’s “Urbanized Area,” which provides a tighter focus on cities themselves.
That means the youthful, nearby city of Boulder is no longer included in our assessment of Denver, and that hurt the Mile-High City a lot. But Denver still has one major draw for singles: It’s ranked No. 1 on affordability.
Which just goes to show what an impact Boulder has.
Love the photo and the Domo-kun’s

Here is another handy Google Maps mash up for checking and posting your cell signal strength based on your location. Looks like Hoboken has a few and NYC has quite a few.

I’ll have to agree with TechCrunch when they say the most useful app has just hit the iPhone, Meebo. I have been using Meebo on my PC for ages and love the centralized IMs without client software. On the iPhone it looks fantastic, works in both horizontal and vertical, brings your conversations to the top of your buddy list, and doesn’t require a special URL, just atomically detects and displays.
Well done Meebo!
Move over Transformers, it looks like they are going to make a Voltron movie! More details over at TMZ.
Since Voltron is much closer to my heart than Transformers were, this is exciting news. Let’s just hope they do AT LEAST as good a job as the Transformer movie.

NYC real estate site Curbed has a funny user-generated series of posts called LOLchitecture.

This is based on the net-monster that is LOLcats. Below is a video with many of them:
This brings up memories when I was a kid and Chuck E Cheese was the place to go. I would go back to see this…
Not sure what I exactly feel about this one, but it could be an interesting concept if the marketing and promotions were done right. So you can Buy your friend a drink via this site, and send them a coupon via SMS to be used at certain bars. You don’t actually buy a drink, but you can send whatever amount of money you want to, and the site charges you a buck service charge.
Now I think it would be a lot better if there was a fixed cost of “a drink” that would make it simpler to figure out how much a drink it at certain bars. I also wonder how the redeeming will work, and that might be something I test out.
