Shake Shack

After three aborted attempts, today was the day I actually tried out the Shake Shack. It was a wonderful day to hang around Madison Square Park, and chill in a line for an hour or so.

First off, check their live webcam if you want to try and time the line. Otherwise expect a long wait and enjoy yourself. The wait wasn’t bad at all and everyone expects it, so you don’t see the usual NYC grumpiness.

So I have to say, it was one tasty burger! I very much enjoyed the Shack Burger, along with the Cheese Fries and the Concrete Jungle. The burger itself is one of the best I have had in the city, made while you wait, with good fixin’s. They actually use real cheese for the fries also, which was a pleasant surprise. Needless to say, I now have food coma and will be lucky to last the day.

I don’t doubt that the hours waiting for this meal added to the enjoyment, so it seems their business model is working pretty well.
