Today will go down as the day I stood up to RC helicopter flying cube neighbors, today I got protection, in the form of a USB missile launcher.
There are lots of toys in our office, and especially in our area where there is fairly constant air activity.
The video below has a launcher pimped with a laser guided webcam. I think I will be happy with just a manually controlled webcam.
The range of around 10 feet is lacking, but I think with some weight added that might help.
The next adversary (already ordered according to my intel) is going to be a plane, a very tough target unless still on the runway.
A very funny song and video for Sony’s PS3, and How To Kill A Brand.
Lots of good stuff over at Sarcastic Gamer, including this gem for the Microsoft Surface.
I am not normally one to saunter down the pop-culture road (beyond tech gadgetry), but I have to say, Lindsay Campbell (of Wallstrip fame) needs a fan club. She does a fantastic job hosting the show and the video blog just keeps getting better. Credit of course also goes to the producers and whoever finds the green screen material!
Photos and videos on her acting/modeling site.
Some of her commercial ads:
Lowe’s (especially relevant given todays Wallstrip on Inverness)
MGD
And a behind-the-screens view by Viral Vault on Veoh (Wallstrip segment at 2:22) and a rather funny ‘movie’ video.
Not sure what to make of the Lindsay Wallstrip Blog though…

After three aborted attempts, today was the day I actually tried out the Shake Shack. It was a wonderful day to hang around Madison Square Park, and chill in a line for an hour or so.
First off, check their live webcam if you want to try and time the line. Otherwise expect a long wait and enjoy yourself. The wait wasn’t bad at all and everyone expects it, so you don’t see the usual NYC grumpiness.
So I have to say, it was one tasty burger! I very much enjoyed the Shack Burger, along with the Cheese Fries and the Concrete Jungle. The burger itself is one of the best I have had in the city, made while you wait, with good fixin’s. They actually use real cheese for the fries also, which was a pleasant surprise. Needless to say, I now have food coma and will be lucky to last the day.
I don’t doubt that the hours waiting for this meal added to the enjoyment, so it seems their business model is working pretty well.
Some other Mad Sq photos:
So there are some very interesting 2D conversions to 3D going on. The first video is a demo for Mok3 and the second is Photosynth/Seadragon from Microsoft. Both very amazing and I love the direction this is going.
Thanks to TechCrunch once again.
I like cool graphs and thanks to Guy Kawasaki for the heads up on this one. A very visual representation of the US Federal Budget and where the money goes. And to think NASA gets such a stink for their share.

So according to this, I’ve lived in LoHo West and West Side Yo
