Got to see, dare I say, NYC’s second baseball team, the Mets in action at Shea. Very glad to see the stadium before they tear it down and move into the new one which is under construction and should be ready the season after next. The Mets did win the game 5-4 against the Cubs, by coming back in the 9th from a pretty uninspiring game. Not that I saw the late action, since I was instead enjoying a Poetry Slam Finals by then.
And got a few photos with my trusty audiovox smt5600, enjoy.
Now to convince another friend to get me to a Yankee game…
A very funny video from Brit singer Lily Allen, Alfie Video, much remixed on YouTube:

I have wanted to post about Colorado exports for awhile now, since my Colorado blood runs deep. The current global hyper-trend is Crocs, that I mentioned in my Dead Sea post.
But I wanted to highlight a few companies that many don’t know come from “Colorful Colorado” (used to be the State’s marketing motto – not sure what craziness is in fashion today).
Some others (not so glamorous IMO) I have to mention:
Many others to mentioned, especially if you are in Telcom or Energy, and I wish more CO Microbrew made it out East.
I don’t deal with it as much as I used to, but there are some really good resources for Email marketers out there. A good blog is RetailEmail.
But what I was really impressed by was the tools that were linked from the site:
Spammy Subject Line Tester
Highlights potential problems with the words you use, and some half decent help descriptions.
From & Subject Line Tool
Shows you what an email looks like in the inbox of different ISPs.
Email Marketing Calculator
Easy and quick email stats for mailings you have sent. Sample:
Thanks to GigaOm, I am now checking out the Joost Beta, TV streamed over the net.
First impression is that I like the interface (feels like a Mac) and the quality is good. The big question for me would be the programs available and when I can give up paying for Cable TV! Here’s to hoping.
Brings back memories of the good ‘ol days of Bubble 1.0. Boo.com is now a very Web2.0 Travel site instead of a flashy fashion site with annoying avatars and $120 million to burn.
Even though we have no association with the previous boo.com, we like the name because it’s short, snappy and easy to remember. We hope you like it too.
Thanks to The Register for this one.
Anyone concerned that Web 2.0 is beginning to resemble the bubble of the late 90s, will be heartened by the return of boo.com.

Got to visit Jerusalem, the Dead Sea and Masada during the weekend (Friday and Saturday for Israel). The two days were incredible and a good chance for the little bit of tourism between long hours of work.
Some Dead Sea points:
There were no great salt formations by Mineral (where I was), but did take a few photos.
