Best Day to Email

I get asked when the best day to email is a fair amount and have heard of the various reports touting this day or that to send marketing email. Ironically, I was looking into this a few days ago and today this report came out.

This eMarketer study had some interesting findings, especially since they looked at list size.

• 97% sent during the weekday
• The bigger the list, the less efficient it will be.
• Monday through Wednesday are the best for large lists
• Friday and Sunday were best overall

I find this stuff interesting since I am the business guru on our list platform and I have sent mailings ranging from a few thousand to over a hundred thousand, and pretty much every day I’m helping someone with a mailing related question.

Monday used to be considered the best day of week, but this has changed over time with Friday being the best in Oct and Nov of 2004.
